HISTORY OF THE GHANA POLICE HOSPITAL
The Ghana police hospital Accra, was established in 1976.The primary function is providing quality health care to members of the Ghana police service and their families and general public. The first medical director of the hospital was DCOP/Dr .Andani Andan. Currently, DCOP/Dr. Mrs. Mariam Tetteh Kobboe is the acting Medical director of the hospital. She is being supported by the administration which is responsible for the day running of the hospital
DEPARTMENTS AND UNTS IN THE POLICE HOSPITAL
The hospital in its present state operate under the following departments and units
*The newly built intensive care (ICU) which takes care of patience in critical condition
*The out patients department (OPD) is the man reception of the hospital .It also serves as emergency center .The OPD consists of reception desk ,four consulting rooms ,dressing and injection room .Other facility are two observation rooms with a bed capacity of nine , an isolation room and resuscitation
*X RAY laboratory department
*The Anesthesia department
*Public health care
*The physiotherapy department
